Thankful for Transforming Happened into Happens, Feeding the Right Wolf, & a Moment of Profound Joy

Day 2,796

Growth:

Remember to use past mistakes as a way to grow forward. While it doesn’t change what happened it makes a huge impacts on what happens. Today I learned from past mistakes and was pleasantly surprised.

Appreciation:

There are many things I am grateful for today, so many that it would be tomorrow before I finished typing them all. When I consider them all – the good, the bad, and everything in between – I realized that what really jumps out as what I am grateful for today is an old parable about two wolves.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Presence:

Timing is everything sometimes. Today I got a card out of the blue that moved me to happy tears. For so many reasons the messages inside hit me so powerfully in the feels. The moments I read the card and the moments I sat in my chair and wept joyful tears were medicine for my soul and were profoundly centering.

Thanks!!!
