Thankful for Choice (Again), a Blursday on a Sunday, & Family Moments

Day 3,870

Growth:

A very timely quote, one from almost two thousand years that still reminds me to pause and center my thoughts, to remember to exercise the one true freedom we each have, the freedom to choose how we react.

“Choose not to be harmed—and you won’t feel harmed. Don’t feel harmed—and you haven’t been.”

Marcus Aurelius

Appreciation:

This weekend went by in a blur! From Friday’s track meet through this evening it’s been a very go go go focused weekend. Today we got to hear about Gavin’s prom night fun and adventures. Church provided more excitement than normal, all good, a reminder of the importance of emergency response for medical situations. Our campervan is all prepped and ready to roll for the camping season which led to many conversations on camping for Becky and I. Our normal Sunday FaceTime with Dominic was a chance to connect on the past few days and to offer support as continues to grow. Meals were almost all on the grill today, courtesy of a very relaxed grocery store run early in the morning. Throw in a hike in one of our favorite state parks and picking up our WI Annual State Parks pass and it was a solid wrap up to the weekend!

I’m exhausted, but in all the best ways. Off to bed to fire up another nonstop week – hope it was as rewarding as this last one was!

Presence:

There were many moments of presence today, but the ones I found most rewarding all center around my favorite people. Hiking with Becky. Talking with Gavin about prom, and joking with him. FaceTime with Dominic, catching up and being there to help support him and to see how much he’s grown. Three wonderful moments all centered around family!

Thanks!!!
